Gen Z and young millennials are consulting the stars more than any generation before, fueling a significant rise in the astrology services market (The Economist). Amid the inevitable stress and uncertainties of life, individuals crave comfort, agency, and clarity. With these demographiccs contributing to declining rates in traditional organized religion, astrology has emerged alongside other spiritual practices as a way to provide insight into behaviors, relationships, careers, future events, and even mental health. The astrology services market is estimated to nearly double by 2031, reaching a striking $23 billion, according to research at Oxford Brookes University (Oxford Brookes University). I’ve observed online and within social groups how astrology has quickly become modern culture’s preferred medium for self-understanding. This idea was conceptualized entirely through my own lived experience under a starlit sky in Ohio with my friends this summer. This advertisement captures the moment we shared: stargazing, laughing, and researching our astrological sign placements together. I would love to bring this idea to life with Boston or East Coast-based creatives. Filmmakers, actors, and animators — send me an email and maybe we can make something really cool together! More information on the full campaign and my human-centered strategy coming very soon.
